There have been times in my life that forced me to grow and examine my relationship with failure. Sitting with this fear and doubt, made me realize that this belief of inadequacy originated from childhood experiences. Perhaps it was hearing the backlash after failing an exam or losing a tennis match that created this mindset of feeling less than others. Reflecting back on these moments, I realized that this is where the fear of failure starts to mold our experiences as we enter adulthood.
I listened to a lot of Eminem as I moved through the shadows, working to release this fear that once held me back. His lyrics taught me to dig deep and to take hold of the opportunities that are given in this lifetime because as we all know life is very short and is never guaranteed. We need to learn how to build a relationship with fear because that's when courage is created.
